    Grade: R
    Work Calendar: 12-month (260 Days)
    Hours per Day: 8

    I. General Description:
    1. Participate in providing safe and efficient transportation services. Assist school operation in providing required services, which enhance the district education program. Must be capable and willing to drive any vehicle assigned.

    II. Qualifications:
    1. High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
    2. Must be 21 years of age, possess or acquire a valid AZ Commercial Driver License (CDL) class B with P and S endorsements and AZ Bus Driver Certificate.
    3. Exemplary driving record with no more than 8 points in the past 39 months or repeated violations in the past 10 years. Proof of 39-month driving record must be obtained from the Motor Vehicle Department annually.
    4. Must be capable and willing to drive any vehicle assigned.
    5. Must obtain and maintain CPR and first aid certificate.
    6. Must pass physical examination and annual drug screening as prescribed by AAC R17-9-102.
    7. Must be in good physical health and have the ability to stoop, climb, reach, push, pull, or lift weights in excess of 50 pounds.
    8. Ability to assist students with disabilities in loading, transferring, securing and unloading.
    9. Knowledge of Agua Fria and metro geographical area, roads, bus stops and school bus routes.
    10. Prefer a minimum two years experience in student transportation.
    11. Skill in maintaining cooperative working relationships.
    12. Must possess knowledge of computer, MS office applications, and other transportation related software.
    13. Prefer three years experience operating Edulog Transportation software.
    14. Ability to adapt to flexible schedule changes and able to work outside normal business hours.
    15. Knowledge of AZ bus minimum standards for school buses and drivers.

    III. Duties and Responsibilities:
    1. Maintain punctual and regular attendance.
    2. Operate and provide continuous maintenance for Edulog field trip software, Web Query and Web Reports software.
    3. Create and modify bus routes/schedules for optimum efficiency and state regulation requirements.
    4. Download or update student information regularly from Student Information System.
    5. Update Edulog geocode to maintain current map info.
    6. Install periodic software upgrades and system backup for transportation related applications/specialized systems.
    7. Perform route optimization and make recommendations for improvement of District transportation.
    8. Conform to all state laws and regulations regarding school bus transportation.
    9. Determines student eligibility based on district policy, regulation and procedure.
    10. Commitment to work toward innovative responses to transportation needs of a growing district.
    III. Duties and Responsibilities (continued):
    1. React professionally in an emergency.
    2. Provide on call back up for staff shortages.
    3. Organize tasks and work independently to meet deadlines with minimum supervision.
    4. Work effectively as a member of a team and apply conscious decision making techniques.
    5. Report all citations/accidents and complete required forms.
    6. Submit to random, periodic and post accident drug/alcohol testing.
    7. Must be capable and willing to drive any vehicle assigned.
    8. Attend and participate in department meetings and training.
    9. Must be capable and willing to drive any vehicle assigned.
    10. Must be able to perform duties in extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time.
    11. Observe all state and federal mandatory safety regulations and district policy.
    12. Maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, staff, parents and school issues.
    13. Provide a welcoming atmosphere for students, staff, parents and community.
    14. Perform responsibilities in an ethical and professional manner.
    15. Performs other related duties as assigned.
