    JOB DESCRIPTION – Paraprofessional I- CTE

    TITLE: Paraprofessional I- CTE (Culinary)
    FTE: .875 FLSA
    STATUS: Non-exempt
    HOURS PER DAY: 7
    WORK CALENDAR: 195 Days

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Assists with learning activities within the culinary classrooms and labs
    2. Monitors lab assignments given by the teachers
    3. Builds the shopping lists for the programs using the recipes
    4. Assists with inventory and accounting procedures of the culinary budget
    5. Sets up and tears down kitchens for labs
    6. Communicates with teachers regarding the students’ needs and progress
    7. Assists teacher during field trips
    8. Shops for all materials used in the labs
    9. Prepares materials for lab use
    10. Maintains confidentiality of information regarding students, staff, parents and school
    11. Provides a welcoming atmosphere for students, staff, parents and community
    12. Performs responsibilities in an ethical and professional manner
    13. Performs other duties as assigned
    14. Maintains punctual and regular attendance

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications for this job description are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
    Education / Certificate
    1. Associate of Arts degree or paraprofessional certification required
    2. Must be able to obtain clearance with a 39-month driving record to operate a District vehicle
    3. Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC) or successfully complete fingerprint and background checks Experience 4. Prior experience working with Career and Technical Education students desired
    5. Must possess knowledge and experience in culinary arts Page 2 of 2 Communication Skills
    6. Must have good speaking, reading and writing skills
    7. Must possess positive attitude toward students, teachers, staff and parents/guardians
    8. Bilingual communication is beneficial Computer Skills
    9. Knowledge of Google Suites
    10. Must possess basic computing and clerical skills
