    POSITION DESCRIPTION: Clerk – Benefits
    Grade: B
    Work Calendar: 260-262 Days
    Hours per day: 8

    1. General Description;

    To assist the Benefits Coordinator with secretarial duties as they relate to employee benefits, employee leave plans, worker’s compensation and other areas of Benefits and Human Resources customer service as necessary.

    II. Qualifications:
    1. Must possess high school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s Degree in business-related or other relevant area preferred.
    2. Prior experience in human resources or with employee benefits preferred.
    3. Must possess ability to operate a computer and standard office machines.
    4. Must possess ability to use or learn to use iVisions and Selerix software systems.
    5. Must possess ability to work cooperatively with all employees and vendors.
    6. Biliterate/bilingual in Spanish and English, preferred.
    7. Must possess a commitment to dealing with matters of confidentiality.

    III. Duties and Responsibilities:
    1. Maintains punctual and regular attendance.
    2. Greets and assists employees with general benefits-related questions or concerns.
    3. Provides general information and education concerning benefits programs.
    4. Answers phones, screens calls, and relays messages to Benefits Coordinator or other Human Resources staff.
    5. Creates/maintains files related to employee benefits.
    6. Creates, maintains and enters database information as required or requested.
    7. Runs reports and assists with billing as requested.
    8. Assists with employee wellness program and initiatives.
    9. Assists with scheduling benefits appointments and coordinating open enrollment, financial literacy presentations or other employee training programs related to employee benefits.
    10. Makes copies, files, organizes materials and completes secretarial tasks as requested or required.
    11. Assists with newsletter content, benefits web postings, employee email announcements, etc.
    12. Maintains confidentiality of information regarding employee issues and benefits.
    13. Provides a welcoming atmosphere for employees
    14. Performs responsibilities in an ethical and professional manner.
    15. Performs other related duties as assigned.

    FLSA – Non-Exempt
