    Position Description: Food Service Manager: Single Site
    Classified Exempt Initial Placement Compensation Guide
    Work Calendar: 10-month (198 Days)
    I. General Description:

    The Food Service Manager: Single-Site will work with the Director of Food Services and in cooperation with the School Administrators to ensure a smooth and efficient operation of the school cafeteria for ultimate health, comfort, and benefit of the students. The Food Service Manager will work to ensure compliance with all National School Breakfast and National School Lunch guidelines and that compliance is documented and maintained.

    II. Qualifications:
    1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
    2. Must possess the ability to communicate effectively and work harmoniously with
    administration, staff, parents, and students.
    1. Must possess excellent customer service skills and ensure that all staff provide excellent customer service.
    2. Must be able to place vendor orders.
    3. Must possess management skills and the ability to organize and lead employees on multiple sites.
    4. Must have five years’ management experience in a high volume food service operation.
    5. Possess general clerical skills, bookkeeping experience and be proficient in arithmetic.
    6. Must possess knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and WebSMARTT software.
    7. Must possess and maintain current Maricopa County Certification and food manager card.
    8. Must have thorough knowledge and understanding of the National School Lunch Program guidelines, production sheets, and standardized recipes.
    9. Must have knowledge of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) requirements.
    10. Must maintain compliance with the Agua Fria Union High School District Governing Board policies.
    11. Must be willing to supervise all catering requests.
    12. Must follow appropriate dress code to meet health standards.
    13. Must be in good health and have ability to lift up to thirty pounds, stoop, bend, stand and reach.

    III. Duties and Responsibilities:
    1. Maintain punctual and regular attendance.
    2. Work in cooperation with the Director of Food Services for production control in planning and
    directing the preparation and serving of all food in the cafeteria.
    1. Work in cooperation with designated Lead personnel to establish and assign duties, work expectations, and schedules for employees for all assigned campuses.
    2. Assign, direct, plan, and supervise the work of cafeteria employees.
    3. Direct kitchen and employee sanitation procedures; directly responsible for the cleanliness of
    the kitchen, offices and serving areas; directly responsible to meet Maricopa County Environmental Health expectations and pass health inspections.
    1. Oversee preparation and service of foods in accordance with daily menus.
    2. Maintain production records, HACCP records and make reports as requested.
    3. Submit orders for food, supplies, commodities and small equipment as needed, using proper
    pricing methods. Train staff to assist in food orders.
    1. Submit inventories and other necessary reports as requested.
    2. Direct and coordinate an orderly, organized and attractive office, kitchen, and storage area.

    III. Duties and Responsibilities (continued):
    1. Responsible for all site caterings.
    2. Evaluate all personnel under position’s supervision.
    3. Supervise and train new employees.
    4. Approve time sheets and payroll edits.
    5. Ensure that all students, teachers and co-workers are treated fairly and with respect.
    6. Attend meetings and workshops when requested.
    7. Assume responsibility for the security of revenue from cafeteria collections until it has been turned over to the proper authorities.
    8. Cooperate with students, parents, other District employees, and administrators in clarifying, planning, and furnishing information about the cafeteria.
    9. Comply with Safety Rules & Regulations and OSHA requirements.
    10. Conduct monthly meetings with cafeteria staff for continued National School Lunch training.
    11. Inform food service staff of district and school policies, events and announcements.
    12. Maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, staff, parents and school issues.
    13. Provide a welcoming atmosphere for students, staff parents and community. Ensure that all staff provide excellent customer service skills.
    14. Perform responsibilities in an ethical and professional manner.
    15. Perform other related duties as assigned.
