    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Arrange and ensure all daily routes are properly staffed
    2. Provide direction, communicate and monitor District drivers and assistants using a two-way radio, maintaining awareness of location
    3. Answer telephones, investigates and resolves transportation issues from staff parents, students and general public
    4. Respond to emergency calls from bus drivers and assistants, re-route buses as necessary
    5. Dispatch mechanic and/or replacement vehicles as needed
    6. Manage and schedule coordinate of field trips and athletic events utilizing drivers and fleet vehicles to maximum efficiency
    7. Prepare invoices and maintain records of activity trips in preparation for the 100th day report
    8. Update and publish daily and weekly reports for activity trips
    9. Check voice mail messages from staff and special education students reporting absences and inform corresponding driver and assistant
    10. Prepare route coverage for special or unscheduled releases
    11. Monitor route arrival/departure times and safety concerns
    12. Maintain list of available fleet vehicles
    13. Maintain records related to mileage and driver data
    14. Assist Transportation Coordinator with editing and special routes
    15. Assist with operating and providing continuous maintenance for Edulog software, Web Query and Web Reports software
    16. Create and modify bus routes/schedules for optimum efficiency and state regulation requirements as requested
    17. Download or update student information regularly from Student Information System
    18. Perform route optimization and make recommendations for improvement of District transportation routing as requested
    19. Conform to all state laws and regulations regarding school bus transportation
    20. Demonstrate a commitment to work toward innovative responses to the transportation needs of a growing District
    21. Respond to requests for staff back up due to shortages
    22. Attend and participate in department meetings and training
    23. Must be capable and willing to drive any vehicle assigned
    24. Must be able to assist students with disabilities in loading, transferring, securing and unloading
    25. Must be able to perform duties in extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time
    26. Report all citations/accidents and complete required forms
    27. Must have ability to remain calm in emergency situations
    28. Observe all state and federal mandatory safety regulations and District policy
    29. Submit to random, periodic and post-accident drug/alcohol testing
    30. Maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, staff, parents and school issues
    31. Provide a welcoming atmosphere for students, staff, parents and community
    32. Perform responsibilities in an ethical and professional manner
    33. Maintain punctual and regular attendance
    34. Perform other related duties as assigned

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
    To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications for this job description are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

    Education / Certificate
    1. High school diploma, GED or equivalent
    2. Must be 21 years of age and possess or acquire a valid AZ Commercial Driver License (CDL) with class B with P and S endorsements and AZ Bus Driver Certificate
    3. Exemplary driving record with no more than 8 points in the past 39 months or repeated violations in the past ten years
    4. Proof of 39-month driving record must be obtained from the Motor Vehicle Department annually
    5. Must obtain and maintain CPR and first aid certificate
    6. Must pass physical examination and annual drug screening as prescribed by AAC R17- 9-102
    7. Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC) or successfully complete fingerprint and background checks
    Experience
    1. Two years of experience in student transportation preferred
    2. Knowledge of Agua Fria and metro geographical area, roads, bus stops and school bus routes
    3. Knowledge of basic radio operations, telecommunications, transportation scheduling and coordination
    4. Must have organizational skills, multitasking skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment
    Communication Skills
    1. Bilingual communication is beneficial
    Computer Skills
    1. Knowledge of Google Suites
    2. Must be able to operate computer and MS Office applications including transportation- related software


    3. Must be able to use computer field trip scheduling to ensure proper arrangements have been scheduled
