JOB DESCRIPTION – Support Technician
TITLE: Support Technician FTE: 1.0
FLSA STATUS: Non Exempt HOURS PER DAY: 8
WORK CALENDAR: 261 days
COMPENSATION: Technology Initial Placement Compensation Guide (Starting at $24.60/hour)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide Tier II support for hardware, software, network connectivity, and peripheral devices across
campus environments.
2. Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and device settings on workstations
and laptops to ensure optimal performance and functionality.
3. Perform diagnostic assessments and troubleshooting of hardware and software issues, escalating
unresolved problems as needed.
4. Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs on technology equipment to ensure optimal
performance.
5. Deploy, manage, and track technology inventory using district systems, including assignment,
return, and repair
6. Support classroom technology, including projectors, document cameras, interactive displays,
printers, and charging stations.
7. Assist with basic networking tasks, including cable management and wireless troubleshooting.
8. Provide training and guidance to staff and students on the proper use of hardware and software
tools.
9. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information related to students, staff, and district operations.
10. Foster a professional and welcoming environment for all students, staff, families, and visitors.
11. Prioritize and manage multiple support requests efficiently to minimize instructional disruption.
12. Stay current with technology trends, district tools, and best practices for educational technology
support.
13. Demonstrate ethical conduct, professionalism, and reliability in all job functions.
14. Maintain consistent and punctual attendance and comply with district policies and procedures.
15. Perform other related duties as assigned by the campus or district technology leadership.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The

Education / Certificate
1. Must possess an associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
2. Certifications such as:
a. CompTIA A+/Network+/Security+
b. Google IT Support Certificate
2. Must have and maintain a valid IVP Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
Experience
1.At least 2 years of experience in desktop support or IT support, preferably in an educational or
customer-focused setting.
2. Must have experience with inventory, scheduling and purchasing parts, as well as warranty work and
supplies
3. Basic understanding of networking concepts, including IP addressing, wireless access, and cabling
standards.
4. Must be 21 years of age or older upon hire
Communication Skills
1. Must possess the ability to work and communicate with faculty and staff
Computer Skills
1. Must have experience maintaining and repairing computer hardware and peripherals and running
network cabling
2. Strong working knowledge of Windows, macOS, and Chrome OS.
3. Familiarity with Google Workspace for Education (formerly G Suite), Microsoft Configuration
Manager(SCCM), and Microsoft Active Directory(AD).
