  • JOB DESCRIPTION –Supervisor

    TITLE:Maintenance Supervisor FTE:1.0

    FLSA STATUS:Exempt

    WORK CALENDAR:260-262 days

    COMPENSATION:Classified Exempt Compensation Guide (Starting Salary: $58,148)

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1.Coordinates, supervises, and participates in campus maintenance services and custodial activities
    2.Inspects campus buildings, grounds and athletic fields; issues work orders to make necessary repairs and inspects completed work
    3.Confers with District administration, building principals and other parties in making plans for planning, maintenance, and use of various school grounds and buildings
    4.Interprets plans and sketches in the carrying out of projects
    5.Coordinates with the site Principal and the Director of Maintenance and/or Maintenance Manager for interviews, screening and recommending personnel for employment
    6.Supervises and trains staff in safety, equipment operation, and maintenance skills
    7.Approve all maintenance and custodial employee absences
    8.Approve all maintenance and custodial employee time sheets and edits for payroll
    9.Procures supplies and equipment and services within budget capacity
    10.Ensures tools and maintenance equipment are properly maintained
    11.Establishes personnel work schedules, oversees day-to-day performances and conducts evaluations as required
    12.Remains on the school premises during and after school hours when the use of the building has been authorized and their attendance is required
    13Responds to alarms and call-outs on nights and weekends
    14.Complies with safety rules and regulations and meets OSHA requirements
    15.Represents consistently the District in a positive and professional manner
    16.Maintains confidentiality of information regarding students, staff, parents and school issues
    17.Provides a welcoming atmosphere in all areas of responsibility
    18.Performs responsibilities in an ethical and professional manner
    19.Maintains punctual and regular attendance
    20.Performs other job related duties as assigned

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

    Education / Certificate

    1. Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
    2. Must possess a valid Arizona driver license with an exemplary driving record
    3. Must have and maintain a valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

    Experience/Qualifications

    1. Minimum of three years experience in schools or commercial buildings
    2. Minimum two years of supervisory experience is beneficial
    3. Must possess a broad knowledge in the operation of both hand and power tools
    4. Must possess working knowledge of building safety codes
    5. Superior time management and organizational skills
    6. Ability to work well with others and with minimal supervision
    7. Must be 21 years of age or older upon hire

    Communication Skills

    1. Strong writing, literacy and communication skills; uses effective communication strategies to interact with a variety of audiences
    2. Must possess ability to work cooperatively with parents, students, administrators, faculty, staff and general public
    3. Must possess strong leadership skills

    4.Bilingual communication is beneficial

    Computer/Technology Skills

    1.Knowledge of Google Suite

    2. Must possess basic computing and clerical skills
