JOB DESCRIPTION – Assistant Principal/Athletic Director
TITLE: Assistant Principal/Athletic Director FTE: 1.0 FLSA STATUS: Exempt HOURS PER DAY: 8 WORK CALENDAR: 261 days COMPENSATION: Administrative Compensation Guide (starting range $99,499) |
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
1. Observes, supervises and assists with the evaluation of the performance of teachers and classified personnel 19. Responsible for the eligibility of all participating students in athletic and extracurricular activities according to AIA and District policies 25. Prepares the athletic budget; responsible for uniform replacement, equipment replacement, and inventory control 27. Oversees the bookstore. Reviews athletic, club and student activity accounts to ensure all are positive and expenditures are fiscally responsible 28. Submits a yearly written evaluation of the athletic program and facilities to the Principal with recommendations for improvement |

Education / Certificate 1. Possess a valid Arizona Secondary Principal Certificate 2. Minimum of an earned master’s degree from an accredited institution, preferably with the completion of the equivalent of one year of graduate work beyond the master’s degree; course work must include administration, supervision, leadership and secondary school curriculum 3. Must have and maintain a valid IVP Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card Experience 1. Completion of an Administrative Internship through an accredited institution 2. Minimum of three years of experience as a coach 7. Leadership skills supporting the planning and implementation of short and long-range site and District goals Communication Skills 1. Ability to work with internal and external staff, community-based organizations and businesses, parents, and students 2. Have skill in preparing and presenting reports 3. Have demonstrated skills in speaking, listening, writing, customer service, and giving presentations Computer Skills 1. Must possess a thorough knowledge in the use of office machines, and personal computers 2. Must possess the ability to use or learn to use student information system software 3. Knowledge of Google Suite
