    JOB DESCRIPTION – Academy Coach

    TITLE: Academy Coach FTE: 1.0

    FLSA STATUS: Exempt WORK CALENDAR: 193 days

    COMPENSATION: Certified School-Based Support Staff (Starting $55,505)

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Serve as the contact person for business, community, and post-secondary engagement for site Academies/Pathways.

    2. Attend meetings to network, enhance partnerships, and provide experiential learning opportunities for students.

    3. Promote and support the implementation and documentation of all Academies of the Southwest Valley activities for FordNGL accreditation and internal audits.

    4. Serve as the liaison between the school and district office in developing and sustaining the Academies of the Southwest Valley.

    5. In partnership with district and school leadership teams, implement the current Academies of the Southwest Valley master plan.

    6. Support the completion of action plans and calendars of events for the Academies of the Southwest Valley.

    7. Coordinate and implement Academy advisory boards.

    8. Coordinate with business partners to maintain accurate community investment data for official business and community partner involvement.

    9. Communicate Academy information with the district Strategic Alliances team and the CTE/Academies district office team.

    10. Coordinate Guaranteed Academy Experiences, including, but not limited to, post-secondary tours, job shadows, student internships, career expos, and guest speakers.

    11. Work with counselors, team leads, and school administration to execute the goals of the Academies of the Southwest Valley.

    12. Attend scheduled Academy Coach meetings.

    13. Facilitate the organization and execution of school tours (through Academy Ambassadors).

    14. Regularly attend Academy PLC Meetings to provide support and guidance for Academy initiatives.

    15. Serve as the point person for the Academies of the Southwest Valley Academy Ambassador program.

    16. Collect, analyze, and communicate Academy data (i.e. Academy enrollment, experiential learning, industry certifications, Academy-related dual credit / dual enrollment, attendance, graduate rate, etc) in collaboration with the district Innovative Solutions team.

    17. On-board new teachers and school staff to the Academy model.

    18. As directed by the Site Principal, engage in school leadership initiatives or other tasks assigned – for example: serving on the master scheduling team or school leadership team to align the Academies of the Southwest Valley initiatives and protocols with school operations.

    19. Effectively supervises students during on-site and off-site Guaranteed Academy Experiences.

    20. Continue to develop with professional growth through Academy-related professional development, conferences, etc.

    21. Work with the site Assistant Principal of Curriculum and site Professional Development teams to create and deliver professional development to teachers to support the Academy model.

    22. Assume any other duties as may from time to time be delegated by the Executive Director of Career & Technical Education and Academies and/or campus Principal. The Executive Director of Career & Technical Education and Academies may make any adjustment in the scope of responsibilities as outlined above which will be in the best interest of the school district.

    23. Maintains confidentiality of information regarding students, staff, parents and school issues

    24. Provides a welcoming atmosphere for students, staff, parents and community

    25. Performs responsibilities in an ethical and professional manner

    26. Performs other duties as assigned

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

    Education / Certificate

    1. Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred

    2. Valid Arizona Teaching and/or Administrative Certificate

    3. Current and valid IVP Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card

    Experience

    1. A minimum of three (3) years successful 7-12 classroom teaching experience

    Communication Skills

    1. Strong writing, literacy, and communication skills; uses effective communication strategies to

    interact with a variety of audiences

    Computer Skills

    1. Must be proficient with technology (i.e. email, Google Suites, grading software, instructional platforms, etc.)
