    TITLE: Instructional Coach FTE: 1.0

    FLSA STATUS: Exempt WORK CALENDAR: 198 days

    COMPENSATION: Certified School-Based Support Staff Compensation Guide (Starting $54,955)

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Demonstrate a desire to improve student performance

    2. Collaborate and assist in planning for professional learning; plan and present professional development in collaboration with site and district administration

    3. Mentor first and second year teachers

    4. Supports teachers in the third year and beyond as requested

    5. Model best practices in instructional delivery and provides best practices

    6. Show consideration and respect for all persons

    7. Share knowledge of instructional theory and district curriculum with teachers

    8. Develop and model norms of collaboration, inquiry and on-going professional learning

    9. Exhibit self-discipline

    10. Support district, school, department and individual teacher goals

    11. Maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, staff, parents and school issues

    12. Provide a welcoming atmosphere for students, staff, parents and community

    13. Perform responsibilities in an ethical and professional manner

    14. Perform other related duties as assigned

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

    To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications for this job description are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required

    Education / Certificate

    1. Current and valid Arizona Department of Education School Teaching and/or Administrative certification

    2. Master’s degree preferred

    3. Current and valid IVP Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card

    Experience

    1. A minimum of three (3) years successful 7-12 classroom teaching experience; five (5) years recommended

    2. Recognized as an exemplary classroom teacher by supervisors and fellow teachers

    3. Exhibits exceptional professional role model qualities.

    4. Ability to participate in professional development to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to be an educational leader

    5. Willingness to engage in and demonstrate formative assessment processes, including non-evaluative, reflective conversations with teachers about formative and summative assessment evidence

    6. Experienced in the effective use of instruction of adult learners

    7. Demonstrate leadership skills

    8. Possess expertise in the classroom instruction

    Communication Skills

    1.Strong writing, literacy, and communication skills; uses effective communication strategies to

    interact with a variety of audiences

    2. Bilingual communication is beneficial

    Computer Skills

    1. Must be proficient with technology (i.e. email, Google Suites, grading software, instructional platforms, etc.)

    1. Must be able to lift and carry materials and packages weighing up to 15 pounds

    2. Ability to travel throughout school sites as required

    3. Must see and hear on a continuous basis as well as speak frequently

    5. Must be able to move quickly when needed (student safety)
